myo-fascial release

Myo-fascial Release

A safe and very effective hands-on technique that involves applying gentle sustained pressure into the Myofascial connective tissue restrictions to eliminate pain and restore motion. This essential time element has to do with the viscous flow and the piezoelectric phenomenon: a low load (gentle pressure) applied slowly will allow a viscoelastic medium (fascial) to elongate.

deep tissue massage

Deep Tissue Massage

Is really a misnomer in the field of massage therapy. It may include elements of Sports massage, Myo-Fascial Release, Shiatsu, Trigger Point Therapy, Neuromuscular Therapy and more. In general terms deep tissue is a generalized classification of many different types of work that all have one thing in common, depth of pressure. Almost all deep tissue forms of massage therapy have a specific treatment goal in mind.

sports massage

Sports Massage

Is commonly used by athletes in preparation for workouts and sporting events. It loosens, warms, and prepares muscles for intensive use. By incorporating assisted stretching, endurance and performance are improved and the chance of injury is reduced. Post event massage relieves pain, prevents stiffness, and returns muscles to normal posture.

Promotes general relaxation and improves circulation and joint mobility, as well as relieving muscle tension. Used primarily in a full-body session, it is a system of long strokes, kneading, and friction techniques on the superficial layers of muscles.

orthopedic massage

Orthopedic Massage

An approach to pain management and injury assessment utilizing a combination of massage techniques. Relief is achieved by a sequence of functional assessment, myofascial release, neuromuscular (trigger point) therapy, cross fiber frictioning, muscle energy, strain-counter- strain and home care.

nueromuscular therapy

Treats acute or chronic pain caused by a strain, sprain, injury, stress, or tension. It can eliminate or minimize discomfort and increase flexibility and circulation while it improves posture, energy, and vitality by addressing specific involved muscles, tendons, soft tissue, and ligaments.

I'm Riding to End AIDS

From June 2-8, 2013, I'm bicycling in AIDS/LifeCycle.

It's a 7-day, 545-mile bike ride from San Francisco to

Los Angeles to make a world of difference in the lives

of people living with HIV and AIDS.  This will be my first ALC ride and I'm trying to achieve a modest goal of $3000 in donations.  Help me support AIDS/LifeCycle by giving what you can. We'll keep riding until AIDS and HIV are a thing of the past.

Just click on My Personal Donation Page and you can donate right from your computer!

Thank you for all your support.
